Thank you for your interest in the Laps for Lynn fundraiser at the San Diego Velodrome. This event will take place October 21 - 22, 2023. To be officially registered for one or both days, we are asking you to raise a minimum of $50 - 100% of which will go to Breast Cancer Angels. To learn more about this local organization, please visit breastcancerangels.org

Once you have raised $50, you will be contacted to ask which days/events you would like to participate in. Every person who raises a minimum of $50 will receive a free event t-shirt and will get an opportunity ticket for a prize drawing held on Sunday, October 21. For every $50 raised, you will receive another ticket. Raise $100 - receive 2 tickets, raise $250 - receive 5 tickets, etc. There will also be a special prize for our top fundraiser. If you prefer not to fundraise - no problem! Just create a fundraising page, but instead of sharing your page with others, simply donate the $50 yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who will receive the donations? 100% of money raised goes to Breast Cancer Angels (BCA), a local 501(c)3 charity that provides immediate and temporary financial assistance to Southern Californians who are fighting breast cancer. For more information on how funds are distributed, go to breastcancerangels.org

Can I raise money for BCA without participating in the Laps for Lynn event? Absolutely! You will still receive an event t-shirt and opportunity drawing tickets- one for each $50 you raise.

Is there a deadline for meeting the minimum required to be registered? Yes and no. Once you reach $50 in fundraising, you will be contacted to ask 1) which events you would like to participate in and 2) what size t-shirt you would like. We will do everything in our power to get everyone into the events they would like, but ultimately it will be “first come, first choice”.

Is there a deadline to earn opportunity drawing tickets? Yes. All donations must be in by midnight on Saturday, October 21st to be eligible for opportunity drawing tickets.

When will the opportunity drawing be? The opportunity drawing will be held on Sunday, October 22nd and the end of racing. You do not need to be present to win. If you are not present, we can arrange pick up in San Diego.

When will I get my free t-shirt? If you reach the $50 minimum before September 24th, you will receive your t-shirt at the event. If you reach the minimum after September 24th, T-shirts will be available for pick up after November 10th.

Can I do a class on Saturday and then race on Sunday? Yes! If you take a Try the Track on Saturday, you are eligible to do a flying 1k on Sunday. If you take the Women’s Intermediate/Advanced clinic on Saturday, you are eligible to do the omnium on Sunday. Once you have met the $50 fundraising minimum, you may register for both days.

Can I just do a class on Saturday? Yes! We will have your shirt ready on Saturday.

Can I just race on Sunday? You can. If you are already race certified at the San Diego Velodrome, you can sign up for the omnium on Sunday. If you are track certified (have completed a Try the Track class, but not completed the 6 week course), you can do a flying 1k on Sunday. If you have never been on the track before, you can do a road bike flying 1k on Sunday.
